The volleyball uniform consists of a top and bottom or sometime a one-piece. The top and bottom piece must be of like or coordinating colors. The uniform top must be skin tight, but cannot expose the midriff, and it must be long enough to be tucked into or hang below the waistband of the bottoms.
1. Jerseys must be identical for all regular players (non- Libero). 2. *NEW* - Uniform Bottoms may differ in style and cut but must all be the same color for all regular players ( non-Libero). 3. Uniforms must be numbered in a permanent manner using Arabic numerals. a. Numbers 1-99 are legal. Numbers 0, 00- 09 are not legal and will not be permitted b. Jersey: No midriff, may tuck in, or hang below waist. Undergarments: The color of undergarments must match primary color of uniform. Numbers, logos and trademarks. Number location: Not more than 5 inches below shoulder seam. Front number: at least 4 inches, contrasting color with top.
vi. Each jersey must use the same color and number height for all players except the Libero. The color and brightness of the numbers must contrast with the color and brightness of the jerseys. Color combinations including but not limited to purple/black, dark green/black, navy/black or navy/maroon are not distinctive enough to comply with the rules.
10. What are the rules about the contrast of jerseys and numbers? (Rule 7.1.2-220.127.116.11) Numbers must be solid-colored. A “shadow” trim not to exceed 1.27 centimeters (½ inch) in width is allowable. Either the body of the number or the surrounding trim must be a color that is in sharp contrast to the jersey color. If trim is used, it must completely surround the number. Numbers must be located on the jersey in a position where they are clearly visible.
Beginning July 1, 2023, the body of the number must clearly contrast from the body of the uniform regardless of trim; Located on the upper front and back of the uniform top; At least 4 inches tall on the front of the top and at least 6 inches tall on the. back of the top;
Although the only difference in this substitution is that any player replacing the libero must wear a jersey colored the same as the starting libero’s jersey. For this reason, most volleyball leagues require all potential liberos to be dressed in the same jersey color as the alternate even while still on the bench.
